Adelaide - The Festival State

 
 

Day 1 Arrive Adelaide

Following arrival, transfer from the airport to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

 

Day 2 Transfer from Hotel to the Airport then fly to Kangaroo Island on the 2 Day/1 night - Kangaroo Island Highlights and see Sea Lions, Kangaroos, Koalas in the Wild.

On arrival, meet your guide. A highlight today is a guided beach walk at Seal Bay, home to a colony of Australian sea lions. See them as they bask on the beach.

Enjoy a gourmet-style lunch in our exclusive secluded bush location, followed by a bushwalk, where you have the opportunity to spot the local birdlife and listen to their unique calls. Then explore the north coast.

Day 3 Flinders Chase National Park, Fur Seals.

Discover the wonders of Flinders Chase National Park. See the Australian and New Zealand fur seals that inhabit these waters. Wander amid the granite domes of the Remarkable Rocks and enjoy a picnic lunch. Later, explore the Rocky River region to see yet more wildlife.

At Hanson Bay Sanctuary, search for koalas. Then, by special permit, enter the Kelly Hill Conservation Park to see kangaroos and Tammar wallabies graze on the open fields, before returning to Adelaide.

 

A Full Day Kangaroo Island or a 3 day/2 night Kangaroo Island tour is available.

Day 4 Extend your stay and enjoy a wine tour; self drive or tour from Adelaide to Melbourne via the Great Ocean Road. Enjoy the Aboriginal Paintings at Grampians National Park, and the 12 Apostles.

Barossa Valley Experience Adelaide Day Tour

There are many wine tasting regions in Australia but you will find this area is especially unique. .

After leaving the main city centre we head north, over the Torrens River and into the Torrens Gorge. You may be lucky enough to see kangaroos and emus grazing near the road before arriving into Williamstown and admire the beautiful stone buildings before having morning tea from the historic Lyndock bakery.

We visit the Angas Park Fruit Co. at the charming stone brick town of Angaston, before admiring the panoramic views offered from Menglers Hill Lookout, which gives you fantastic photographic opportunities looking out onto the Barossa Valley.

Lunch will be at award winning Peter Lehman Wines and consist of a beautiful tasting plate of local meats and cheeses.

The afternoon will then be spent amongst the vineyards and wineries that make this area so popular and famous around the world. This afternoon will be created to suit your palate. Whether you prefer the red or white, dry or sweet, our guide will discuss with everyone what they prefer and visit wineries appropriate to your taste. This is the joy of a small personalized group.

The day will finish with a stop to view the most famous of all premium Australian wine, Grange.

Great Ocean Road Experience 3 Days

Adelaide to Melbourne or Reverse, via the Great Ocean Road

 

City pick up 06:45

Day 1 - Leave Adelaide over the picturesque hills to the Langhorne Creek wine region; head to Lake Alexandrina, to the northern end of The Coorong. This long, narrow lagoon stretches from the mouth of the Murray River and is home to a multitude of local and migratory birds, as well as kangaroos, emus and other native fauna. 

At the southern end of The Coorong and the start of the Limestone Coast, completely different and constantly changing scenery. Next is the Cape Jaffa wine region, an opportunity to sample some of the local wares before arriving at your over night accommodation in the beautiful seaside town of Robe.

Day 2 - You will move from sand dunes to long deserted beaches and lagoons filled with animal and bird life, to rugged coastline carved by the sea. Passing Lake George, you arrive at Beachport, a quaint old whaling station. Your next stop is Mount Gambier, famous for its Blue Lake and the fascinating Sunken Gardens.

Travel through to Nelson, situated on the Glenelg River estuary and the Lower Glenelg National Park to Visit one of the many extinct volcanoes in this region. This ancient crater is now home to a variety of animals and birds, including koalas, kangaroos and emus. Warrnambool is our destination for the second night in the heart of the Shipwreck Coast.

Day 3 - Travel to The 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, London Bridge are the most known sights on the Great Ocean Road. Cape Otway National Park is Australia's temperate climate rain forest where a boardwalk takes you through a breathtaking valley of ferns and giant trees. The old logging tracks through the National Park provide a chance to travel through some very special, secluded forest areas, home to black wallabies, coloured parrots, kookaburras and many more forest inhabitants. Travel to Apollo Bay one of the most beautiful towns along the coast.

You will now travel along spectacular cliff face roads to the Wye River, one of many pretty fresh water inlets along the coast. Travel through Angahook-Lorne State Park past Mount Defiance into Lorne. Follow the Surf Coast and beach side towns Airey's Inlet, Anglesea and Torquay. Travel via Geelong, and rolling farmland, over the Westgate Bridge and into Melbourne.
