A Taste of Tasmania: will take you to the Bonorong Wildlife Park, where there is an opportunity to feed the wallabies and see the Tasmanian Devil. At the Mt Field National Park where the trees are giant swamp, and snow gums, myrtle, king billy pine and the beech trees and in amongst the rainforest is the stunning and photogenic Russell Falls. Time for lunch, then onto Mt Tim Shea and the lookout seeing the Florentine Valley and World Heritage Area then back to Hobart. A changeable weather so come prepared as it can become changeable.
 
 
Port Arthur and Richmond: starts with a drive to convict ruins of Port Arthur. Time for morning tea, before exploring the history of the arresting ruins and aged restored cottages at this once ruthless penal institution. Time for lunch before heading to Richmond. On the way see the unusual coastal formations of Tasman Arch and Blowhole at the stunning Eagle hawk Neck. Named because it just stick out into the Ocean. Then we arrive into Richmond , which is honored as a historical town and has the oldest convict built bridge and catholic church in Australia. It is advisable to dress warm and have comfortable clothing as the weather is changeable regardless of the seasons.
 
 
Hobart to Huon Explorer: takes allows you to see the historic Constitution dock area, Salamanca Place and Battery Point. Travel to the dry eucalypt forest areas and along side the Huon river through farming land. Have a look at how a wooden boat is hand made and ascend to Geevston Forest. It is here that you can visit the Forest Room and learn about Forest Management from living trees to wood products. Then onto the astonishing Tahune Forest Air walk from a height of 65 feet above the forest floor. Here there is a explanatory walk and talk, and time for a Barbecue lunch. Then an afternoon drive through the forest and stop at the "impressive big tree". These Eucalyptus regnans can grow up to a height of 328 feet and a girth of over 56 feet. From viewing these giants back to Hobart via Ranelagh and around the base of Mount Wellington.

Three Day Tasmania Stopover


Day One From Hobart we head to Port Arthur in time for morning tea; and then it is time to discover the history of the convict ruins and the bygone era restored cottages at the once unforgiving penal encampment. After lunch the tour departs for the historical town of Richmond that has the oldest convict built bridge and catholic church in Australia. On the way to Richmond see the extraordinary coastal formations – Tasman Arch and Blowhole – at beautiful Eaglehawk Neck. Return to Hobart for the night.


Day Two Before we leave Hobart there is time to take in the sites of this fantastic city before, traveling through the northern suburbs on the Heritage Highway to Launceston. Ross is a historical town that built the architectural bridge and house. You will see the intricate sandstone carvings on the bridge and then travel to Launceston for a tour of the city before heading for your hotel for the night.


Day Three Departing Launceston we travel to Cradle Mountain via the mural town of Sheffield. Here there is time to discover the outstanding National Park and see the information centre to find out about the many short walks in the area. Upon Cradle Mountain return to Launceston via Mole Creek and if you wish see the Tasmanian Devil (extra charge) before arriving at your accommodation in Launceston.

Four-Day World Heritage Tasmania
 

 



Day One From Hobart you travel to Mt Field National Park and Russell Falls. It is here that you walk along side the combination of the world’s largest flowering trees and the tallest hardwoods in the world. Then drive to the Derwent Bridge and Lake St Clair; Australia deepest lake at 548 feet. We travel on the Lyell Highway to the scenic Queenstown via the King William Range and Victoria Pass for the night.


Day Two Mt Jukes, Bird River, and the Kelly Basin are the natural wonderland where Queenstown is located; and the area is a World Heritage Listed Area. In the hinterland rainforest, there are waterfalls, four wheel drive tracks, and hiking are just a few of the activities available. Return to either Queenstown or Strahan for the night.


Day Three Departing Queenstown or Strahan you have the choice of either the Gordon River Cruise up the Gordon River to see reflective scenery of this spectacular rainforest. You also have a chance to walk through the rainforest at the Heritage landing before returning to Strahan. The second option is to visit the Montezuma Falls the tallest in Tasmania. We take a mild four wheel drive along a long abandoned railway track and then a short walk to these thundering falls. If time permits, drive out to see the mutton-birds nest on the rocks at Ocean Beach. Then back to Strahan whilst seeing the sights.


Day Four Depart Strahan for either Launceston or Hobart via the Lyell Highway. We see the Nelson Falls and take short walks into the wilderness forest. After lunch, travel to the up spoilt and charming historical town of Hamilton. Here you see sandstone buildings that date to the early 19th century; and arrive back your hotel for the evening.
 

 



Six-Day Wilderness Experience Tour
 

 



Day One Russell Fall/ Lake St Clair/Queenstown Departs Hobart We pick up from your accommodation and travel to Mt Field National Park and Russell Falls, walk along side the world’s largest flowering trees and the tallest hardwoods in the world. Day Two Mt Jukes/ Bird River/Kelly Basin Depart Queenstown Today will be spent in the wilderness rainforest area’s of this famous West Coast travel into the World Heritage Area and see Tasmania’s best-untouched wilderness, four wheel drive tracks and walks in the wilderness take up most of this day then return to Queenstown or Strahan for overnight accommodation.


Day Three Gordon Fiver Cruise or Montezuma Falls Depart Queenstown This morning we take the winding road to Strahan to catch the Gordon River cruise; this will take you up the Gordon River to see spectacular scenery and reflections of the true wilderness rainforest. Walk through the forest at Heritage Landing before returning to Strahan via Hells Gates arriving back at approx. 2.00 p.m. We then travel out to see Ocean Beach and mutton-bird rookeries, and then return to Strahan for a free afternoon exploring the many sights such as Strahan Visitor Centre, Hogarth Falls and Strahan for overnight accommodation.


Day Four - Zeehan/Pieman River/Stanley Departure at approx 8.30 a.m. This morning we travel to Pieman River which we cross on the Fatman Barge, on arriving at Corinna on the over side of the Pieman River we have morning tea. We then proceed by the Western Explorer Highway to the historic village of Stanley via Couta Rocks, Arthur River and Marawah for overnight Stanley accommodation.



Day Five Stanley/Burnie/Devonport/Leven Canyon Depart Stanley Today we explore the North West Coast on our way to the Black Bluff ranges for a secluded evening accommodation feed the wild native animals close by. You may in the evening glimpse at a platypus before you retire. Overnight at Mountain Valley


Day Six Sheffield/Mole Creek/Central Plateau/Hobart Depart Hobart. Today we travel through back roads and valleys to Sheffield, town of murals, then through Paradise and Mole Creek and up to the Central Plateau. After lunch see some of our best highland lakes before taking back roads through the forest to return to Hobart or Launceston, arriving at approx 6.00 p.m.
 

 



Two day Freycinet hike
 



Day One: This morning we depart on a journey of discovery. Your guide firstly takes you on a tour of Hobart, Constitution dock, the historic Battery point and across the Tasman bridge to historic Richmond. We cross and view Australia's oldest bridge. We visit the old jail, St Johns Church and look at some of the grand old homes.
Moving on we visit Tasmania's finest heritage village of Ross. A drive through the town uncovers the magnificent streetscape nestled on the banks of the Macquarie River. We call in at the famous Wool centre and enjoy a delicious Aussie lunch of local cheese, breads and meats all served in the original old bakery building.

After lunch we travel on though Campbell town and through forest areas toward the coast and make our way towards the magnificent Freycinet National Park and our overnight accommodation. This is A small select resort on Tasmania's East Coast called the Edge of the Bay. It is a step away from Freycinet National Park and renowned Wineglass Bay and here you will have a waterfront suite with the sea at your doorstep.

Day Two: This morning enjoy a walk along the beach or just sleep in before your guide collects you at 10.30am for a walk up to Cape Tourville with its outstanding views of the Tasman and the Freycinet peninsula. Returning to the vehicle we make our way around Great Oyster Bay and down the coast. Breathtaking views and beautiful countryside takes us to Swansea where we call in on Kate's Berry farm. Enjoy the panoramic views of the Freycinet National park whilst sipping on tea or coffee, accompanied by delicious scones with cream and home-made jam. Rejoining the vehicle we travel down the coast and through rich farming areas before arriving back in Hobart around 5.00pm

Day 1

Today an Executive car will transfer you from your Melbourne Accommodation to the Big Blue Lounge at Moorabbin Airport.
Enjoy a welcome coffee and morning tea at the Big Blue terminal.
Depart Moorabbin and head out across Bass Strait to King Island.
Experience the wonderful cuisine of this small Bass Strait community.
Arrive at “Somercotes” mid – late afternoon.

Day 2

Today there is a Full day of fishing with Red Tag Trout.
Travel to some of the remote and beautiful wilderness areas of Tasmania.
Enjoy a day fishing the unspoilt waters.
A full lunch is provided.
Late this afternoon return to “Somercotes” to freshen up before Dinner at “Somercotes” or BBQ your catch.

 

Day 3
 
This morning enjoy your last leisurely breakfast at “Somercotes” before you depart for Moorabbin airport, Melbourne.
At Moorabbin Airport, Melbourne an Executive car will be waiting to transfer from the Big Blue Terminal to your Melbourne accommodation.
